MyCAA and American College

It is military appreciation month and I have been speaking with some of our great military veterans and spouses who have become teachers. Regardless of your political leanings, you should know that we have some incredible programs to help our veterans and their families achieve their educational and career goals.

MyCAA is one of these programs which pays $6,000 to help military spouses find career and education training in portable careers that can help them when the move all over the country. We have three military spouses working on our Master's in Education through MyCAA and it is just wonderful to talk with them.

Next up is to figure out the Post 9-11 GI Bill for a veteran in Connecticut who is serving his country again - this time in the classroom who wants a master's from American College of Education. Makes my job a lot more satisfying today.

Military Master's

The military has so many great education programs for current service-members, veterans and military spouses. When I came to American College of Education, it was definitely one of the areas where we wanted to focus.

So we now have our military education benefits web page up and running. Next week we will have our MyCAA benefit page up.

We already have two spouses who are using their MyCAA education dollars to earn their master's degree.

It is military appreciation month and what better way to celebrate than helping our military members, veterans and spouses realize their educational goals!

Charter School Teachers

Nice plug for the new American College of Education partnership with the Florida Consortuion of Public Charter Schools to help charter school teachers improve their teaching practice or move into leadership roles in their schools.

During National Charter Week / National Teacher Appreciation Week - doesn't it just make sense to celebrate both!

Teach For America - the Master's

I have always been a fan of Teach for America so I was very pleased when our board of directors at America College of Education approved a new master's program for TFA alum. The TFA Master's Degrees will help this fine group of dedicated education reformers move quickly into leadership positions with the M.Ed. they need. Like TFA, this program is focused on student achievement!

During teacher appreciation week, it is kind of nice to appreciate these young teachers who are dedicating their lives to helping all students succeed.

National Charter School Week!

It is National Charter School Week and American College of Education created a special program for Charter School Teachers to help them help more students. We have a tuition reduction bringing the cost of a master's in education down to $6,600.

Charter school teachers usually have to do a lot more with a lot less. So earning a master's gets put in the back burner. But American College is all about accessibility to higher education. We made the master's degree more accessible by making them more affordable, 100% online with engaging content that makes you want to finish. Charter teachers can now take a giant leap forward in their careers with a master's created by educators for educators at American College of Education. They wanted classes that have real world application and a focus on student achievement and that is what we deliver.

If you know of a charter school teacher who has been putting of getting their master's degree, please let them know that a master's degree really is accessible.
